This week is all about giving your front porch a refresh and elevating your curb appeal whether you’re planning to stay in your home long term or getting ready to sell! With the future being so unpredictable right now it’s definitely a good idea to create an outdoor space where you can retreat this spring and summer, and if you’re anything like me the front porch is a great place to kick back and people watch, lol. What else are we gonna do during a pandemic – am I right? Today I’m bringing you all the tips and tricks to make your front porch a cosy oasis that also up’s your curb appeal!
Heavy on the layers (outdoor carpets, door mats)
The cosiest spaces are super generous with layers! I’m on board with the layered carpet trend and you can always find really cute outdoor rugs to layer – pair a neutral with a bold design. Don’t forget to add some outdoor throw pillows and throw blankets to make it extra cosy.

We’ve also lit up our flower bed with solar garden lights that adds a nice visual feature, you could do the same or use these type of lights to line your walkway.

Lots of flowers & plants in cute planter boxes
Spring and summer are two of the seasons that you can without a doubt use greenery as outdoor decor because the weather allows it [thanks Mother Nature]. Think hanging lush ferns, planter boxes with an assortment on colourful flowers, your favourite tropicals, or all three! I love the look of planter boxes on each side of a front door and they don’t have to be huge to make a statement.

Think of somewhere to sit back and put your feet up with a hot cuppa & your favourite book on a bright summer morning – pure bliss. Outdoor benches and chair sets look great on a front porch without taking up too much room and you can always find [or DIY] a small table to match.
